2026 Election - Courts
The 2026 Election will not impact the District 22 District Attorney's Office or the District Court Judges but will bring a new Clerk of Superior Court and could impact state courts.
Caswell County Clerk of Superior Court
John Satterfield has held the office of Caswell County Clerk of Superior Court since 2002 but his name will not be on the ballot for the 2026 election.
Two Republicans, Bettie Lea Knight of Blanch and Ron Bradsher of Yanceyville, will face off in the March 3 Primary Election. The winner of that Primary will go on to face Rodney Adams, a Democrat from Semora, in the fall election.
DA and District Court Judges
Current District Attorney Katy Gregg, a Republican from Reidsville, is running unopposed for the District 22 DA Office.
District 22 Judges Erica Stanfield Brandon (Seat 01), Christine Fields Strader (Seat 02), and Scott K. Skidmore (Seat 01) are all Republicans and running unopposed in the 2026 election.
NC Supreme Court Associate Justice
Democrat Anita Earls and Republican Sarah Stevens are both running for NC Supreme Court Associate Justice Seat 01.
NC Court of Appeals
Matt Smith and Michael C. Byrne will run on the Republican Primary ballot in March for NC Court of Appeals Judge Seat 01 . The winner of that race will go on to face Democrat John S. Arrowood in the fall election.
Democrat Tobias (Toby) Hampson and Republican George Cooper Bell are both running for NC Court of Appeals Judge Seat 02.
James Weldon Whalen and Christine Marie Walczyk will both be on the Democrat Primary ballot in March for NC Court of Appeals Judge Seat 03. The winner of that race will go on to face Republican Craig Collins in the fall election.
Timeline
Individuals who wish to vote in the March 3, 2025 Primary Election must be registered to vote by February 6. Early voting will begin on February 12 and end on February 28.
