The Caswell County Cooperative Extension Office launched a non-perishable and canned food drive on February 23. They will be collecting canned food and other non-perishable foods at their office, located at 126 Court Square in Yanceyville, until March 31. The food drive is being hosted in honor of Small Farms

Born around 1815 in Caswell County, Roper was son of a mixed-race house servant (African-Indian) and her enslaver, Henry Roper, a planter. As an adolescent, Roper led a nomadic existence, repeatedly being sold or traded throughout the South before he was returned to Caswell County in 1832.
