The Holmes Mustangs barely edged out the Dillard Bulls, 43-40 in the Regional Championship game on Thursday. It was a heartbreaking end to the Bulls' 19-game winning streak, but highlight reels from the game demonstrate why these young men will be remembered for much more than a single game.
Watch closely and you'll notice basketball players from Bartlett Yancey Senior High School seated right behind the Bulls' bench, cheering on the young team. The high school players were quick to join them on the court after the game, their bodies shielding the boys' heartbreak from being on full display as Holmes celebrated their win mid-court.
