Captain Pruitt Completes EMS Management Institute
UNC Charlotte’s professional certificate program classes are designed so that what is learned can be directly transferred from the classroom to the workplace.
Caswell County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) congratulates Captain Brittany Pruitt on her February 13th graduation from the UNC Charlotte EMS Management Institute.
"This achievement reflects her commitment to leadership, professional growth, and excellence in EMS," Caswell EMS posted to Facebook. "We are proud of Captain Pruitt and look forward to the continued impact she will have on our organization and the community we serve."
UNC Charlotte’s professional certificate program includes a wide range of professional development classes designed to hone the skills needed to be effective and competent in EMS leadership roles. Classes are designed so that what is learned can be directly transferred from the classroom to the workplace.
A range of instructional techniques, such as team-building adventures, role-playing, small group work and dialogue among participants will be implemented to enhance the classroom experience.
The program consists of four modules:
- Leadership & Team Building
- Operations Management
- Supervision & Personnel Management
- Communications and Public Relations
Individual session topics include:
- Leadership competencies from front-line to supervisor
- Leading effective teams
- Time management & organization
- Systems status management and deployment
- Managing legal & ethical issues
- Budgeting
- Coaching and employee development
- Interpersonal communication
- Managing stress to avoid burnout
- Conflict resolution & negotiation
