City of Danville Offers New Summer Internships
Applicants should demonstrate a passion for small, rural communities, strong communication and project management skills, and analytical thinking. Students from outside the City of Danville are also encouraged to apply.
The Danville Office of Economic Development & Tourism (DOEDT), with the Partnership for Innovation’s (PIN) Summer Internship program, will offer two entrepreneurship-focused internship opportunies this summer. These projects include the Danville Enterprise Engine and Project Black Business Impact.
Each internship is a 12-week, paid, on-site position based in the City of Danville, Virginia.
Through the Danville Enterprise Engine, interns will engage in storytelling, strategy, and community outreach to support the development of a Small Business Council, create an online resource hub, and deliver program proposals for future entrepreneurial support. Interns will gain hands-on experience in economic development, inclusive leadership, and strategic planning.
Through Project Black Business Impact, interns will work to support the growth and visibility of Black-owned small businesses, design innovative resources like a business directory and pilot programing, and gain experience in entrepreneurship support, program planning, and inclusive ecosystem building.
“Communities thrive when we invest in emerging talent,” said DOEDT Project Manager, Samantha Bagbey. “These internships allow for students to contribute meaningful work and gain hands-on experience while helping us to strengthen not only Danville’s businesses but our entire region’s small business ecosystem.”
Applicants should demonstrate a passion for small, rural communities, strong communication and project management skills, and analytical thinking. Students from outside the City of Danville are also encouraged to apply.
