On Monday, July 20, the Caswell County Board of Commissioners approved an "EMS Shift Differential Policy" that Interim County Manager Melissa Williamson said had been developed in response to a "very real operational challenge within our EMS department."

Caswell County EMS currently has six vacant positions. The County is actively recruiting to fill two of those not subject to the current hiring freeze, a Shift Supervisor and a full-time Paramedic. Williamson told the Board Monday night that EMS Director John Yarbrough had reported not yet having any prospective candidates.
