Commissioners Approve Six More Months of External Support for Finance Department
The county's FY 2025 audit, due December 31, 2025, is the last one outstanding and the audit for FY ending June 30, 2026 will be due December 31, 2026
Monday night, Caswell County Commissioners were hesitant to approve a $40,000 contract for consulting services to complete the remaining work necessary for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 audit, train staff on the Central Depository bank reconciliation process, and provide the required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience review and sign off for the county's annual financial statements for the FY 2026 audit.
"We've got to get to the point we can stand on our own two feet," Commissioner Frank Rose said of the new contract with Johnna Sharpe.
