Family, friends, and neighbors came together at Pelham Community Center on Sunday, April 19 to honor Lorrie Wrenn, who has received the 2026 NC Governor's Volunteer Service Award.

"She's so humble, she doesn't want the focus to ever be on her," explained Wrenn's daughter, Stephanie Tickle, after her mom took the podium, not to talk about her own volunteer service, but to praise those who volunteer alongside her.

"None of this would happen without all of them," Wrenn said of the friends and neighbors who volunteer with her.
