County Approves CoSquare Lease for Bail Bonds Business
Some commissioners concerned about potential foot traffic.. Other Business and Notes from July 20 meeting
A proposed CoSquare Desk Lease Agreement with a bail bonds company prompted some concern at the July 20 meeting of the Caswell County Board of Commissioners.
Commissioners were asked to consider a request from Shawn Sylvester, owner of 21 Bail Bonds, a member of the Caswell Chamber of Commerce, to lease a desk in Suite 8 at CoSquare. Like other desk leases at the co-working space owned and operated by the County, the lease would renew monthly, at a cost of $150 per month.
Interim County Manager Melissa Williamson told the Board that the applicant had indicated the space would be used as administrative office workspace to establish a business presence in Caswell County. She added that the applicant had stated "he does not intend to operate day-to-day bail bond services from CoSquare or generate regular walk-in customer traffic."
