County Budget Approved
County budget passes unanimously, multiple budget amendments as staff begins closing out FY 2026
On Monday June 15, the Caswell County Board of Commissioners approved the County Budget by unanimous vote, a first since June of 2020.
Staff cut approximately $3.8 million from this year's recommended budget. They shaved another $19,000 from it after removing $50,000 in debt service for an ambulance remount Commissioners opted to pay cash for in the current budget year, adding $15,706 to cover the cost of local visits by a Veterans Service Officer, and making a number of technical adjustments after doublechecking the numbers.
The approved budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 authorizes $33,039,000 of General Fund expenditures without increasing property taxes and without appropriating any fund balance to cover recurrent expenses.
