Mr. Jack Pointer, a longtime Caswell County Educator who retired in 2001 was honored on Tuesday, March 31 during a special dedication ceremony to name the Jack L. Pointer, Jr. Softball Field at Bartlett Yancey High School BYHS.

"His legacy lives on in the relationships he built," said BYHS Interim Principal Dee Carter in her opening remarks.

Interim Superintendent Lance Stokes shared that he had a special memory of the softball field - breaking his arm on that field in 3rd grade, before the improvements Pointer helped make happen.

Retired educator Donna Hudson joked that Jack Pointer was likely a bit nervous about what she might say.
