Candidate Event Rescheduled
UPDATED! Republican and Democratic Candidate Meet & Greets impacted by winter weather forecast
Winter weather may ultimately impact the day, but both the Caswell County Democratic and Caswell County Republican parties have scheduled opportunities for residents to meet their candidates on Saturday.
The Caswell County Democratic Candidate Meet & Greet is scheduled for Saturday, January 31st, 10am - 12pm at Gunn Memorial Public Library. *Updated 8:05am, January 29 to note that the Democratic Party has cancelled this event due to the forecasted adverse weather.
The Caswell County Republican Candidate Meet & Greet is scheduled for Saturday. January 31st, 3-5pm at the Yanceyville Municipal Services Building. *Updated 2:04m, January 29 to note that the Republican Party has rescheduled this event to Saturday, February 7.
Who is Running?
Caswell County Commissioners
District 01 - Current Commissioner Frank Rose and former Commissioner Cathy Lucas, both Republicans, are the only candidates in the race so Caswell's District 01 Commissioner will be selected during the March Primary Election.
District 02 - Antonio Foster (Democrat) has filed to run against current Commissioner Finch Holt (Republican).
District 04 (unexpired term) - No one filed to run against current Commissioner Brian Totten (Democrat) so he will keep the District 04 seat, unopposed. Totten was appointed to that seat in March of 2025 after the resignation of former Commissioner Edith Gwynn, who had been elected in November of 2024.
District 05 - No one filed to run against current Commissioner Tim Yarbrough (Republican) so he will keep the District 05 seat, unopposed.
At-Large (unexpired term) - Four residents are running for the unexpired At-Large Commissioner term.
Democrats will be asked to choose between two candidates, Jelesa Hardin of Pelham and William B. Vernon of Milton.
Republicans will be asked to choose between Elin Claggett of Providence and Randy Simmons of Stony Creek.
The winners of those two primaries will face each other in the fall election.
Caswell County Sheriff
Current Caswell County Sheriff Tony Durden, a Democrat from Pelham, is being challenged by Eric Crisp, a Republican from Prospect Hill.
Caswell County Clerk of Superior Court
Two Republicans, Bettie Lea Knight of Blanch and Ron Bradsher of Yanceyville, will face off in the March 3 Primary Election. The winner of that Primary will go on to face Rodney Adams, a Democrat from Semora, in the fall election.

Individuals who wish to vote in the March 3, 2025 Primary Election must be registered to vote by February 6. Early voting will begin on February 12 and end on February 28.

Price of Hillsborough, Brandall Redd of Reidsville, and Mary Lucas of Hillsborough attended a Democratic Party Meet & Greet in Yanceyville on January 10, 2025 along with US House of Representatives District 13 candidates Paul Barringer of Sanford, Alexander Nicholi of Raleigh, and Frank Pierce of Raleigh.
