Nepotism and Conflicts of Interest in County Government
March 16 appointments - Concerns raised about nepotism and conflicts of interest - Parks & Rec Advisory Council may return
"To date, this policy is only applicable to one resident, one volunteer, in Caswell - myself," Dr. Elin Claggett of Providence said of the County's nepotism policy when she addressed the Caswell County Board of Commissioners during Public Comments at their March 16, 2026 meeting. "This restriction weakens the county, but does not weaken me."
The "nepotism policy" Dr. Claggett was referencing is a nepotism clause the Commissioners added November 3, 2025 to the County's Citizen Advisory Board Policy.
