It will likely be January before the school board receives a definitive construction schedule, that will inform the decisions they will need to make for the 2027-2028 school year.

Oakwood Renovation Expected to Stretch Into Next School Year
Photos courtesy of Brady / Construction has not yet officially begun at Oakwood Elementary School, but ceilings have already been pulled down, exposing what crews will have to work with, and around, as renovations proceed.

"We anticipate 12 months of construction," Kevin Lynn with Brady Services told the Caswell County Board of Education during their Monday, October 12 meeting as part of an update on the renovation of Oakwood Elementary School. "I would like to be clear that we're anticipating needing to be into the second school year."

Lynn emphasized that it would be 12 months from the start of the construction phase, expected to begin in January.
