School District Requests Transfer Requests by Early June

Caswell County Schools have a few more moving pieces than usual as they plan for the next school year and are requesting that parents get transfer requests in by early June to make that process easier.

In addition to an earlier start to the school year (August 17), and new start and end times for the school day to accommodate a new tiered bus routing system, the school district will be relocating students and staff from Oakwood Elementary to accommodate the renovations planned at that school.

On Monday, May 11, Interim Superintendent Lance Stokes asked the Caswell County Board of Education to review the form and process for transfer requests, warning that he anticipated the Board could receive an influx of requests from Oakwood parents who felt Stoney Creek or North Elementary Schools might be a better fit for their family than South, where the District currently plans to house Oakwood students for the 2026-2027 school year.
