Sharone Hamlett Named Teacher Assistant of the Year

Sharone Hamlett from Oakwood Elementary School was named Caswell's Teacher Assistant of the Year and is retiring this year after 27 years of service.

"Words cannot accurately express the impact Mrs. Hamlett has made in the lives of our students and staff," the school said on social media. "And while we are happy for her to begin to enjoy her retirement, we know that she will be leaving behind shoes that can never be filled."

The 1995 BYHS graduate is the 7th Superintendent named by Caswell County Schools in the 13 years since Dr. Douglas Barker retired in 2013.
