Traffic Delays Likely Next Week

Caswell County drivers may face significant traffic delays beginning Monday, October 5 as a generator is transported across the county to the Person County Energy Complex at Hyco Lake.
Duke Energy has described the 3-day transport as a "rolling roadblock" that will cause the most significant delays at bridge crossings, and provided the following planned travel route for the turbine, which will arrive in Ruffin by rail.
Officials report that it will be crucial for the transport to leave the Ruffin rail yard by 8am on Monday to avoid the hundreds of cyclists who will also be coming through the area that morning as part of the Cycle North Carolina “Mountains to Coast” tour.
Officials ask that the public be mindful of not crowding the transport, or cyclists.
