Yanceyville Considers Rezoning Requests, EDC Appointment

Questions raised about fire call data and water plant staffing contract.

The Yanceyville Town Council has scheduled a public hearing at the start of its November 10 meeting related to two rezoning requests currently under consideration.

The first would rezone the old Post Office property located at 43 West Main from Office/Institutional to Central Business. Yanceyville Town Manager Kamara Barnett said that the rezoning request mentioned the possibility of a bakery but explained that if the property was rezoned, it could then also be used for other types of retail or restaurant businesses.

The Caswell office, which is located on Rascoe Dameron Road in the Anderson Community, is currently only open one day a week, Wednesdays, 8am-5pm.
