Yanceyville Driver License Office Open 3 Days a Week

The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles (NC DMV) has significantly expanded operating hours at Yanceyville's part-time driver license office.

Yanceyville's driver license office, located at 958 Fire Tower Road will now be open three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), from 8am-5pm, closed for lunch from 11:30am-1pm.. The site had previously only been open one day a month.

The move comes as the NC DMV is continues to implement its Examiner Staffing Plan, announced in November 2025, by expanding operating hours at four more part-time driver license offices in rural and underserved areas. These changes, aim to reduce wait times and bring essential services closer to home for North Carolinians.

These adjustments are part of a broader initiative to align staffing with customer demand, increase access in high-need areas, and improve overall service efficiency.

The plan, based on data analysis of wait times and customer needs, includes staffing increases at 56 offices statewide and guarantees daily staffing at all service terminals in 19 high-demand locations.

“We’re committed to making driver license services more accessible and convenient for everyone, especially in rural communities where travel distances can be a barrier,” said NCDMV Commissioner Paul Tine.

NCDMV encourages customers to check office locations and hours at NCDMV.gov and to utilize online services for transactions such as license renewals, duplicates, and address changes to avoid in-person visits when possible.
