Bartlett Yancey Names New Head Football Coach
Coach Johnson has led and supported multiple playoff teams and has been instrumental in ending long-standing losing streaks and revitalizing football programs.
Bartlett Yancey Senior High School proudly welcomes Coach Ryan Johnson as the new Head Football Coach.
Coach Johnson brings over 20 years of coaching experience at the high school level across North Carolina, with a proven track record of rebuilding programs, developing student-athletes, and fostering a culture of discipline, teamwork, and excellence.
Throughout his career, Coach Johnson has led and supported multiple playoff teams and has been instrumental in ending long-standing losing streaks and revitalizing football programs. Most recently, he served as Defensive Coordinator and Associate Head Coach at Cedar Ridge High School, where he helped develop All-Conference players and strengthen the team's competitive performance.
Editor’s Note: Coach Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) focused in Sociology/Education from Elon University. The Board of Education approved his hire during the Monday’s Special Joint Meeting, noting how thrilled they were that he is also an Exceptional Children’s teacher.
