Commissioners Approve Changes for Voluntary Agricultural Districts
Upcoming changes to the Board, moving the Ag Advisory Committee under Cooperative Extension, and continued consideration of adding unpaid code enforcement fines to property tax bills for collection.
On Monday, November 2, the Caswell County Commissioners unanimously approved several motions related to Caswell’s Voluntary Agricultural Districts and Agricultural Advisory Committee.
First, Commissioners amended* the Voluntary Farmland Preservation Program Ordinance to reduce the number of Agricultural Advisory Committee members from nine to seven, recommending that membership be representative of as many townships as possible.
That amendment also reduced the minimum contiguous acres requirement needed to qualify as a Voluntary Agricultural District from 20 to five.
