Booster Club President Asks for Clarity Ahead of Buccaneers' Football Jamboree Friday Night
Parent tells the Board that she needs to better understand the policies, the procedures, the protocols, the expectations, the rules, and the responsibilities of her position
The leadership of Caswell County Schools has faced criticism over the last-minute cancellation of the August 7 Midnight Madness event planned by supporters of the Bartlett Yancey High School football team. Many school board members say they were not aware of the issue and Superintendent Lance Stokes has attributed the last-minute cancellation to miscommunications and misunderstandings that ultimately prevented the school system from being able to address liability concerns in time to host the event on school grounds.
On Monday, Holly Broadnax, a local parent who was selected president of the football booster club this past spring and planned the August 7 event, addressed the Caswell County Board of Education during public comments. She expressed her disappointment that the event had been cancelled at the last minute describing it as a “huge smack in the face” that had disappointed the players on the team.
