Buccaneers Play on Thursday After Winning Last Week 8-6
Buccaneers are 1-1 headed into Thursday night's game against Northwood.
The Buccaneer football team will host Northwood in Yanceyville on Thursday, September 3 at 7:30pm (Coach Johnson announced just before 5:30pm on Thursday that game time has been moved to 8pm.) The game was rescheduled due to excessive heat, marking the second time in as many weeks that weather has impacted the game schedule.
Forecasted thunderstorms moved last week's game against American Leadership Academy to Thursday, August 27. The Bucs were not rattled by the short week, the long ride to Johnston County, and a couple weather delays, winning the game 8-6.
The Buccaneer only allowed the Patriots a single touchdown, late in the 2nd quarter.
The Bucs got on the board themselves early in the fourth quarter with a 2-point safety before Freshman Jakory Robertson threw a 25-yard pass to Sophomore Mychael Graves for a touchdown to win the game with a final score of 8-6.
