Caswell Commissioners Consider Prohibiting Rental of Historic Courthouse

County Manager says the intent is to protect the historic nature of the building and the recently restored upstairs courtroom.

Images of the Caswell County's Historic Courthouse are frequently used to promote or symbolize the County, such as in the logo above that is currently being used by County Government, but private rentals of the facility may soon be prohibited.

Caswell County Commissioners are considering whether to not to continue allowing private rentals of the Historic Courthouse.

During their Tuesday, September 8 meeting, County Manager Melissa Williamson presented Commissioners with recommended revisions to the County’s Facility Use Policy that excluded the Historic Courthouse from the County’s facility rental program and stipulated the need for, and attached, a Wavier Assumption of Risk and Release Liability Form.
