Caswell Deputies Involved in High-Speed Pursuit
Driver of the vehicle stolen from High Point arrested, passenger escaped on foot
The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Joshua Scott Bailey of Danville during the early morning hours of Monday, September 14, following a high-speed pursuit that began when deputies with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a Dodge Charger on US Highway 29.
According to a press release from the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle fled into Caswell County at speeds exceeding 130mph before cutting the headlights and disappearing into Virginia. The vehicle then reentered Caswell, fleeing again when spotted by Caswell County deputies.
Sergeant Greg Ingram, Public Information Officer for the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the suspect vehicle struck a Caswell County deputy’s vehicle during the incident on Shady Grove Road, near Seamster Road. According to Ingram, no one was injured in the crash.
