Yanceyville Mayor Alvin Foster says the Town has never forcibly annexed any property.

Town Attorney Lee Farmer told the Yanceyville Town Council during their Tuesday night meeting that updated maps of the Yanceyville's corporate limits revealed several gaps or "donuts" the Town may want to consider annexing to clean up the town's boundaries.

Farmer explained that the NC Secretary of State's Office had required the map be updated, clarifying that it was up to the Town Council to review the maps and determine if annexation would be pursued.
