Yanceyville's Only Outdoor Basketball Court Gets Upgrade
The only outdoor basketball court in Yanceyville has been resurfaced thanks to grant funding secured by local volunteers.
Damarious Holloway says he was just a child when the outdoor basketball court was first constructed on Main Street in Yanceyville, giving him someplace to play ball close to home.
Now, Holloway is grateful to have an outdoor space in Yanceyville where he can play with his 5-year-old daughter, Raelynn.
The two were playing on the court Monday, March 30, before crews had finished resurfacing it, but Holloway said he was glad to see that improvements were being made because he believed it was important for children to have safe spaces to play outside.
