Dee Carter Chose Education and Continues to Choose BYHS
Meet Ms. Dee Carter, the newly named Principal at Bartlett Yancey who continues to choose the students and staff at the high school, despite her long commute.
Ms. Decolia "Dee" Carter does not like to drive, but the Guilford County resident chooses to drive approximately 500 miles a week to work at Bartlett Yancey High School (BYHS).
Carter confesses that, when she first began at BYHS as an Assistant Principal in 2023, she was worried that the daily commute would be too much, and she would never last. Now, as she begins her fourth school year in Caswell County, Carter said she still hates driving, but that her morning drive to school is not a struggle because she loves the students and staff at BYHS and is excited to come to work every day.
