Calling all young chefs! Join us for a fun and interactive Kids Cooking Class where children will learn basic cooking skills while preparing simple, delicious recipes in a safe and welcoming kitchen environment.

Hosted at the N.C. Cooperative Extension Kitchen, this free class gives kids the opportunity to build confidence in the kitchen while learning skills they'll use for years to come. Participants will receive hands-on instruction and discover that cooking can be both fun and rewarding.

Throughout the class, participants will learn:

  • Basic kitchen safety
  • Proper handwashing and food preparation
  • Measuring ingredients
  • Using common kitchen tools
  • Following simple recipes
  • Healthy cooking habits
  • Teamwork and creativity in the kitchen

Cooking is an important life skill that encourages independence, healthy eating, and confidence. This class is designed to make learning enjoyable while helping young chefs develop skills they can use at home with their families.
