Milton Awarded $1.9 Million Grant for Wastewater Plant

The recently adopted North Carolina budget does not include appropriations for Viable Utility Reserve (VUR) grants through the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Water Infrastructure, but Milton’s Mayor Angela Upchurch announced Tuesday night that the State Water Infrastructure Authority has awarded the Town of Milton $1.9 million in currently available VUR grant funding towards the construction of a new wastewater treatment facility.
