North's Avery Artis Named Caswell's Principal of the Year
Artis said North benefits significantly from strong parental involvement and community support that works to celebrate the accomplishments students and staff while supporting many fun opportunities for staff, students, and their families.
North Elementary School's Principal, Avery Artis, was recognized as Caswell County Schools' Principal of the Year. Artis has been in education for more than 20 years, but this is only his second year as Principal.
“I have a newfound respect for elementary teachers,” he said in an interview earlier this year, explaining that he had only worked at the middle and high school levels before coming to North.
During his first year as Principal, North demonstrated tremendous improvements in grade level proficiency rates, but Artis was quick to give the credit to the students and teaching staff.
