S. R. Farmer Lake to Host Kids' Fishing and Fun Day August 8
Annual event offers children a chance to practice their casting, catch a few fish, and enjoy a free family picnic.
In an effort to introduce more kids to the fun of fishing, and more families to the amenities offered at S. R. Farmer Lake in Yanceyville, the lake is hosting a free Kids' Fishing & Fun Day on August 8, 8am - 12 noon.
Children will receive a free fishing rod and reel (while supplies last) and enjoy a morning of free bank fishing. Lake Warden Charlie Ward said that they will have bait available onsite for the event but added with a chuckle that he would not be baiting hooks, instead leaving that part to the kids and the adults who bring them.
