School Board Member Questions Adherence to Board Directives
Board Member pushes staff for answers on funding decisions and a recommendation to create STEAM teacher assistants with Title I funds was not approved
There were a few tense moments during Monday’s meeting of the Caswell County Board of Education as Vice Chairman Joel Lillard asked pointed questions about various actions that he said did not align with Board decisions and directives.
It began as the Board considered approval of the agenda.
“This is not the process we agreed on,” Lillard said as he argued that there were too many items requiring action on the meeting’s agenda. “We agreed upon the first meeting would be for discussion, and the second meeting would be for approval, unless we have emergency items.”
