Schools Work to Balance Budget Without Using Fund Balance

The Caswell County Board of Education received a draft budget for local funds and capital outlay on Monday, July 27, but it requires a $511,000 appropriation from fund balance.
Brook Underwood, Finance Director, reminded the Board that the school system had requested $4,277,826 in local operating funds from the County Commissioners, but the Commissioners had chosen to allocate $3,078,092, which is the same amount as allocated in Fiscal Year (FY) 2025-2026.
