One would expect this type of response after spending a month in Spain, as I did when my big brother gifted me the trip of a lifetime. Europe changed me. What surprised me was experiencing the same feeling after only nine days in Colorado.
The trip began as a graduation gift for my grandson, Austin. In 2019, I promised to take him to see the Rocky Mountains. Then Covid arrived, postponing our plans for a year. By the time we finally headed west, neither of us realized how much the journey would affect us.
