Town of Yanceyville Approves Budget With No Tax Increase
Water treatment plant requires stabilization before going back online, nuisance codes will require weeds to be shorter, website back online
On Tuesday, June 23, the Yanceyville Town Council unanimously approved the Fiscal Year FY 2027 budget.
The $1,263,342 General Fund budget did not raise taxes but did require $63,388 in fund balance appropriation to cover anticipated expenses.
The Water and Sewer Enterprise Fund budget was more than double that of the General Fund, totaling $2,923,749. Water and sewer rates were not increased but $181,332 was appropriated from fund balance to cover anticipated expenses.
During the same meeting, Council unanimously approved a year-end budget amendment that appropriated $5,000 of fund balance to cover General Fund expenses and another $196,520 of fund balance to cover Water & Sewer Enterprise Fund expenses.
