Section 8 Office Could Move to Make Room for Public Defender
The plan has not yet been finalized, but if everything works out with a few recommended moves, the brick house located at 251 W Church Street in Yanceyville could house District 22's new Public Defender's Office.
County Manager Melissa Williamson explained to the Board of Commissioners at their meeting on Monday, September 22 that the County is legally responsible for providing and maintaining adequate physical office space, utilities, and basic furniture to house the Public Defender’s Office approved for District 22 in this year’s state budget.
