Training Exercise Provides School Staff with Realistic Scenario to Test Safety Plans
The training exercise was held at Bartlett Yancey High School where faculty and staff from the five other schools pretended to be students.
Caswell County's students were out of school on Monday, September 14 but it was a workday for school staff, who spent the morning participating in an emergency preparedness training exercise in conjunction with the Caswell County Sheriff's Office, Caswell County EMS, Caswell 911, and the Yanceyville Fire Department.
Clayton Myers, Administrative Lieutenant with the Caswell County Sheriff's Office explained that over the years, there had been a number of live scenario trainings and table top exercises held in conjunction with the school system and Piedmont Community College but that Monday's exercise was intended to allow the school system the opportunity to test their safety plans.
