Volunteers Needed for Parks and Rec Advisory Committee
Citizen Advisory Boards give residents the opportunity to participate in decision-making, see who was appointed to other committees July 20
Caswell County is actively recruiting Advisory Committee members for a new Parks and Recreation advisory committee to provide input on County Parks and Recreation programs.
Committee Details
- Structure: 5 members and 2 alternate members
- Term: Three-year commitment
- Representation: Each member represents a specific school district. (Alternates can be from any district).
- Ex Officio: Caswell County Recreational Development Foundation can have one member appointed. Please note on the application if you wish to serve as the ex officio for the RDF.
How to Apply
- Obtain a volunteer application online HERE or pick up an application at the Historic Courthouse.
- Complete application, clearly noting your school district on the form.
- Submit by Email: swilliams@caswellcountync.gov or in person to Stephanie Williams at the Clerk to the Board’s office, located in the Historic Courthouse.
Citizens Appointed to Advisory Committees July 20
Commissioners appointed the following Caswell residents to serve at the July 20, 2026 meeting of the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner John Claggett noted that he hoped all volunteers were made aware of the County's Citizen Advisory Board Policy. - Adult Advisory Committee - Sylvia Banks and Gloria McGhee
- Board of Adjustments - Jimmy Cole (Stefanie Jackson had also applied. Commissioners did not nominate anyone to the vacant alternate position.)
- Board of Health - Amanda Doss, Dr. Howard Holderness, and Michael Komondy
- Farmer Lake Board - Troy Smith and Jim McCormick (Steve Scheinert appointed as alternate)
- Library Advisory Board - Stefanie Jackson
- Person-Caswell Lake Authority - Barry Joyce
- Senior Center Advisory Committee - Gloria McGhee, Hazelene Chandler, and Mary Jane Daniel
